Donald James Redwine
1940–2019 | Engineer, Inventor & Lifelong Problem Solver

Donald James Redwine built a remarkable career around curiosity, innovation, and an instinct for solving difficult problems.
A graduate of Texas A&M, Don spent more than four decades as an electrical engineer with Texas Instruments. During his career, he contributed to the development of memory technology and was credited with more than 40 U.S. patents, leaving behind a body of work that reflected both his technical expertise and his enduring curiosity about how things worked and how they could be made better.
That curiosity did not end with retirement. Don remained fascinated by mathematics, science, technology, and new ideas throughout his life. But his accomplishments were only one part of who he was. He was also a devoted father and family man, remembered for his intelligence, humor, generosity, and unmistakable personality. An avid tennis and golf player, Don traveled with his family throughout his retirement. Above all, his faith, his devoted wife of 50 years, and his children and grandchildren were at the center of his life. As the Founder’s father, Don had an enormous impact on Laura’s faith, her love of people, and entrepreneurship.
His legacy reminds us to stay curious, keep learning, laugh often, challenge the way things have always been done, and never stop looking for a better solution.
The Legacy Continues

The lessons of Robert and Donald Redwine continue to influence the work behind Care to Keys today.
From Robert came an example of entrepreneurship built on relationships, hard work, integrity, and service. From Donald came an enduring curiosity—the belief that problems are meant to be understood, challenged, and solved in better ways.
Those values helped shape the vision for Care to Keys: bringing together healthcare, technology, real estate, and trusted resources to help individuals, families, and professionals navigate life's transitions with greater support and fewer obstacles.
They are also reflected in ScrybeX™, where decades of clinical experience meet technology and innovation to solve a problem familiar to healthcare professionals: the time and burden of clinical documentation.
